I’ve had this computer for 1.5 months….God I wish I returned it…Nothing is significantly wrong with it, but in my experience here are the problems I’m having:

sometimes when I’m watching videos on youtube, or any internet site, the video will hang up for a split second…like its running fine the music is playing and all of a suddennnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn it buzzes for a two seconds. Called the tech support and they had me reinstall drivers, which did nothing

@EMG801 Nope, high performance mode is not the same as turbo mode. An easy way to turn it on is to go to StartAllProgramsAsusUtilityPower4GearHybrid. After this on the bottom left it says turbo mode. You can set it using that.
    Thanks

@punkmanmatthew ok i think on an full hd resolution or 42inch the fps would be fucked up ^^

@launchmusicc That’s all the same as mine just the cpu is 6.7. Check to see if you have turbo mode on. If so that will make the score go down to a 6.6 but the windows experience isn’t reliable but if you want higher number on it just see if your turbo mode is no.

@Smikefliege I think it would run it at about the same as mine the G60JX and it will run on a 42 inch but it depends on what resolution the tv is set on and you can set the resolution on the tv. The higher the resolution the lower will be the fps.

could you think the G60JX-JX140V with the i7 720qm could run crysis on everything maxed out? if yes would you think hooking it up to an 42inch tv would fuck up the frames per second?

@punkmanmatthew – okay, thanks! I’m not too worried about the quality of the picture as long as the laptop is powerful enough to play the games.

@punkmanmatthew not as good performance with games*

@mtrtrm Well…the G60jx has a better processor and I think the graphics card is maybe better or the same as the 260m. But the 260m has a better screen and more ram but the ream is slower than the G60JX. Also the hdd is slower in the other one. So I would go with the G60jx but if you want a higher resolution screen go with the other one and also if you want now as good performance with games.

Should I get this laptop or the ASUS G72GX? I was looking at the G72 because it was a bit cheaper and it has a stronger graphics card. I’m not very tech savvy so I’m not sure which laptop is more reliable or powerful…

I’m planning to play games like Company of Heroes and Sims 3. I will also be using the laptop to browse the internet, watch videos, and other stuff.

@wildfire423 Well…since you are planning on gaming I think this is the best choice under $1000 because it’s really good at gaming and it only cost $850 now I think. Also if you think will end up not gaming or get tired of gaming quickly then just go with a cheaper one because it you are not gaming this Asus is just overkill for internet browsing and homework. But if you really want to game get this one. Thanks

What would be your recommendation on this laptop. I plan to find a laptop (under $1000) that I could use to browse the internet, watch Youtube video, download song, and do some homework with Microsoft word. Also with a few 3 to 4 hour gaming session about 3 times a week. Would you say this is a good fit for me?
Also, you got any other suggestion for another laptop that fits in my category?
Do you have any flaws with this yet?
